Our
Projects

Explore some of PEK Services’ most impactful environmental and infrastructure projects, each reflecting our commitment to ecological restoration, regulatory excellence, and sustainable community outcomes.

Croatan National Forest Reforestation – North Carolina

PEK Services is leading a strategic reforestation initiative in Croatan National Forest to restore native longleaf pine ecosystems and improve the forest’s resilience to wildfires and climate stress. The project includes mechanical mastication for site preparation, planting of longleaf pine seedlings, and acquisition of native plant stock. Located in Region 8, this effort enhances biodiversity, supports fire-adapted landscapes, and reinforces our core capabilities in land restoration and sustainable forestry.

Kirtland's Warbler Habitat Management Cultural Resource Surveys – Michigan (2025–2026)

In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, PEK Services is conducting Section 106 Cultural Resource Surveys in Huron-Manistee National Forest as part of the Kirtland’s Warbler Habitat Management Project. Our team is documenting historic and pre-contact resources, evaluating National Register eligibility, and analyzing impacts to ensure compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). This project highlights our leadership in cultural resource management and environmental compliance.

Acequia Restoration – New Mexico

Following uncontrolled prescribed burns, PEK Services restored vital Acequia irrigation systems through debris removal, excavation, and hydrology restoration. Working closely with local landowners and agencies, we stabilized impacted areas, improved water quality, and re-established natural water flow, playing a key role in post-wildfire environmental recovery and the preservation of traditional agricultural infrastructure.

U.S. Forest Service Project Support

Across various locations, PEK Services has provided the U.S. Forest Service with construction and project management, land clearing, tree planting, and archaeological survey services. Our work ensures the protection of cultural resources, supports environmental restoration goals, and promotes compliance with federal conservation and land-use regulations.

Durrance Project – Florida

PEK Services provided engineering enhancements for the Durrance site, designing and implementing dike breaches to reduce flooding on adjacent lands and improve overall water flow and site drainage. This project demonstrates our expertise in hydrology restoration and flood mitigation design.

Whitmore Project – Arkansas

PEK Services implemented a comprehensive hydrology restoration plan at the Whitmore site, including the installation of two levees, full-round risers, water control structures, and microtopography features to enhance ecosystem resilience and water management capacity.

Henry Poole Property – Mississippi

To improve drainage and reduce erosion, PEK Services excavated and constructed a diversion ditch to reroute stormwater from adjacent croplands on the Henry Poole property. This work improves soil retention and supports better field management.

Robinson Site Reforestation – Arkansas

On the 52.5-acre Robinson site, PEK Services conducted strategic reforestation, planting trees and shrubs to rebuild habitat, enhance local biodiversity, and promote ecological sustainability.

Bob Waits Project – Mississippi

PEK Services constructed new levees and installed nine full-round risers on the Bob Waits site to enhance water control, improve flood management, and optimize land restoration outcomes.

Starvation Slough – Florida

This project involved comprehensive environmental and engineering services, including hydraulic modeling, land surveying, construction cost estimating, and an updated Wetland Reserve Plan of Operations (WRPO) to ensure effective long-term conservation.

Farm Bill Outreach – Georgia

PEK Services has been instrumental in educating ranchers and farmers on the 2018 Farm Bill, helping them understand program benefits, navigate funding opportunities, and adopt sustainable land-use practices. This outreach increases access to conservation resources and strengthens the agricultural community.

Willow Break – Mississippi

At Willow Break, PEK Services constructed new levees and installed both a full-round spillway and a structural spillway to enhance site water management, flood protection, and overall land resilience.

Multiple NRCS Projects - Southeast

PEK Services continues to partner with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) on multiple projects involving wetland restoration, watershed rehabilitation, erosion control, and habitat protection across the Southeast. These efforts align with NRCS goals to improve soil health, water quality, and sustainable land use throughout the region.

Spanish Trail – Florida

We provided comprehensive engineering services for the Spanish Trail project, including design, modeling, surveying, construction estimation, and the development of a Wetland Reserve Plan of Operations (WRPO) to support long-term restoration and compliance with conservation goals.
